Johanna Sapakie
The kind heartwarmer
As she grew into her teens, she discovered lyrical and contemporary dance and, perhaps most importantly, her love of choreography and artistic expression through movement. She began choreographing for herself and her friends as a teenager and never stopped playing with movement. When she moved to LA after high school, she was introduced to hip-hop and the commercial dance scene. She has always had a desire to be a 'jack of all trades and has been fortunate to have a career that encompasses many different aspects of the dance world and its many genres.
Johanna is the genius behind the choreography of The Hustlers with JLo and one of the choreographers and stage performers at the 2020 Superbowl finale. The humble and friendly hard worker will be a 2019 ambassador for LUPIT.
Johanna is also an accomplished aerialist, performing on many different apparatuses, including tissú, lyre, spans, hammock, acro pole, and cube. In addition, Ms. Sapakie performs a unique aerial dance routine on a device Johanna conceived and designed herself called the double helix. She has performed and taught her aerial artistry throughout North and South America and the Middle East. She was also an integral member of the acrobatic team for a unique spin pole number in Viva ELVIS and a unique solo curved acro pole number in Michael Jackson ONE, both by Cirque Du Soleil.
